Upcoming Events
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Parent-teacher conferences will take place on Thursday and Friday. Teachers have reached out to families to arrange meetings to discuss student progress. If you would like to schedule a conference, please email your child’s teacher directly. We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s success!
High School Visitations
Springer Book Fair
Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again.
Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. A love of independent reading boosts academic success, plus children who read more frequently also report improved mental health.
This year, we are excited to open the fair during our Parent/Teacher Conference Days for more opportunities for families to shop together.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Book Fair:
Dates: October 22-30
Location: Springer School Library
Book Fair homepage: https://www.scholastic.com/bf/springermiddleschool
While you’re on our homepage, set up a Book Fair eWallet, the digital payment account that allows your child to shop for books at the Fair without cash. Then share your eWallet link so friends and extended family can add funds!
When you fund an eWallet, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to a giving initiative called Share the Fair™. Your contributions directly support our students who need help buying books from the Fair. Many of us still remember the rush of finding the perfect book at a Scholastic Book Fair.
Happy reading,
Panorama Survey
During the month of October and November, we will administer the Panorama survey. This is a survey that BSD administers every year to help gauge the social-emotional status and mindset of our students. As well as the connectedness our students have to our school. This survey is online and takes about 20-30 minutes to complete.
There are two parts to the survey, which will ask students to self-reflect on their sense of belonging, expectations, and classroom learning strategies. The second part will ask questions about mental health, diversity and inclusion, and cultural awareness and action. Springer Middle School gathers the results of this data to help drive actions within the MTSS system, develop goals for our School Success Plan, and screen for students who may need intervention.
Wrapped Wishes
Please consider donating disinfectant wipes and also laundry detergent. Wrapped Wishes supports BSD students over the holidays and this is Springer's way to help out. If you are interested in sponsoring some BSD students over the holiday season, see the following flyer.
Family Support
Here at Springer, we are here to support you and your family. Please complete this brief form to let us know which resources or supports would be helpful. You may select more than one option in each section. Our school social worker will use your responses to help connect your family with available resources and support.

After School Activities
As a reminder, students attending any after-school event as spectators must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire event. This expectation applies to athletic events, concerts, musical performances, PTO activities, and all other after-school events (after-school clubs do not count).
Students who arrive without a parent or guardian will be asked to make arrangements to go home and will wait in the main office until transportation arrives.

Bulldog Highlights!
Springer Athletics
It was an action-packed week for Springer Athletics! Soccer defeated Newark Charter earlier in the week before experiencing its first loss of the season against P.S. duPont under the lights on Wednesday. Field hockey earned wins over Newark Charter and P.S. duPont, while volleyball continued its winning ways with victories over both schools.
Cross country had a great meet at White Clay Creek Park on Thursday, highlighted by sixth grader Elsie Zimmerman’s first-place finish in the girls’ race!
We are proud of our student-athletes for their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship. A big thank-you to our amazing coaches for their dedication and support. You all continue to make Springer proud. Keep up the great work, and Go Bulldogs!
