A Message From Mrs. Carmody A Message From Mrs. Carmody

Happy Summer, Fremont Families!

We hope you are soaking up these last weeks of sunshine, adventure, and quality time together. Whether you're enjoying a family trip, backyard fun, or quiet moments with a good book, we hope your summer has been restful and full of joy.

As we count down to the start of another exciting school year, we wanted to share some important updates and reminders to help you and your child feel confident and ready for the year ahead. While there’s still time for a little more summer fun, we know many families are already thinking about school routines and what’s new at school—so we’re here to help you feel prepared and informed.

Schedule Shift

We’re excited to share an update to our specials schedule for the coming school year. Students will now have one specials class each day, rotating through the following five engaging subjects: Art, Healthy Minds, Makerspace, Music, and Technology. (Healthy Minds was previously a part of our Physical Education instructional time.)

In addition to these specials, students will have Physical Education (P.E.) three times per week. This shift from five days a week schedule allows for smaller groups in the gym, which increases instructional impact and enhances student safety. On the other two days, weather permitting, students will enjoy outdoor recess in place of P.E. On inclement weather days they will play indoors.

WIN Time
Each day, students will participate in a dedicated 30-minute block called WIN Time, which stands for "What I Need." During this time, teachers will provide students with targeted academic and social-emotional support based on their individual needs. This may include:

  • Intervention or reteaching

  • Enrichment or extension activities

  • Independent or small-group work

  • Related services as dictated by Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Importantly, no new core instruction is introduced during WIN Time, ensuring that students can focus on support without missing essential content.

Details about Fremont Elementary School can be found in our Family Handbook. Please make sure that you have read this over as it will answer many of your questions.

We can't wait to see everyone back at school!

Sincerely,

Beth Carmody

Principal

Strong attendance habits begin on day one. When students are here consistently and on time, they benefit from direct instruction, collaboration with peers, and meaningful relationships with teachers. Please help us by encouraging your child to be present and ready to learn each day—every day truly counts.
