Hello Homestead Community,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fall Break! We are excited to welcome students back tomorrow. It is that time of year where it all starts to fly by. Be on the lookout for emails from classroom teachers regarding conferences during the first week of November and Fall parties on 10/31.

We will celebrate Halloween on 10/31 with a Halloween parade around the building at 2:15pm. If they would like, students can wear costumes to school all day or they can change into costumes later in the day. Costumes should be appropriate for school, and should not stereotype or disrespect race, culture, gender or differing abilities. No masks or weapons.

We are also excited to have our first Voices of Color meeting on October 28 at 6:00pm. The goal of Voices of Color is to foster an inclusive and safe environment to support the success of students of color by engaging community in meaningful and effective partnerships. To begin these partnerships, our first meeting will welcome dialogue about lived experiences at Homestead. Everyone is welcome to join.

We have several after school clubs and summer activities offered at Homestead through outside organizations such as Chess Club, Coding Club and Tennis and Pickleball Club. Stop by the front lobby of our school to see what is offered and pick up a flyer for more information. Or, click on this link to access the flyers electronically.

Colorado legislation has prompted greater need to screen and document volunteers in our schools. As of January 2022, we began asking every volunteer to complete a brief application to support activities in CCSD schools.

If you are currently volunteering or plan to volunteer in the future, please complete the CCSD online volunteer form. It should only take a few minutes to complete and you will only need to complete this form once a year to meet the requirements to volunteer in all CCSD buildings.

Please note: if you completed this application more than one year ago, it is time to do it again!
