7. Sign in with Google Update

Google is changing its policy on third-party app access for students. Starting on October 23rd, 2023, students will only be able to access websites that have been approved. Here's what you need to know:

  • What's Changing? When you use your Google account to log into a website, your personal information is shared with that website. For adults, this isn't an issue, but for students, access to websites will be restricted unless the website has been vetted and approved.

  • Where to Find Approved Websites? You can find a list of vetted and approved websites and apps at the following link, https://lmsdorg.sharepoint.com/sites/OnlineEducationalResources.

  • How to Vet a Website? If you want to use a website with students that isn't on the approved list, follow the instructions on the Policy 816 website.

5. Restore Your Open Tabs in Chrome After You Reboot

To restore the tabs you had opened in Chrome after you reboot:

  1. Reboot the computer
  2. Open Chrome
  3. Press at the same time: Command-Shift-T (for a Windows computer, you would use Ctrl-Shift-T)

All your tabs should reopen. If you have lots of tabs, give it a little time after pressing the three keys as each page will have to load. I would recommend rebooting your computer at least once a week, if not more often. When you do reboot, reboot while you at school.

3. Using Frames in Seesaw

Seesaw Frames are smart shapes that make it easier for students to show what they know. Teachers add frames to an activity template. Students touch the frame, the tool opens automatically, and their creation fits the space. Using frames is a great way to utilize the Seesaw Creative Tools to gain learning insights from students - while making the completion of activities as easy as possible! Click here to learn more.
