Kaleidoscope and Community Service Day Kaleidoscope and Community Service Day

Please considering helping! Link in the info below.....

Dearest Greenfield Community,

For the past several years, Greenfield High School and Junior High have celebrated the last day of school in December (Thursday, December 18, 2025) with Kaleidoscope and Community Service Day.

This special event allows students to spend part of the day serving our community and the other part exploring new skills through a variety of short, hands-on courses.

During this time, the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will also be hosting a blood drive at the school. For more information or to schedule a donation, please contact Ms. Nora McCready at nmccready@greenfieldr4.org.

Community Service

Community Service Day is a meaningful way for students to give back during the season of giving. It also provides valuable experiences students can list on applications, résumés, and scholarship forms. If you have an idea for a community service project, please share it with us—we would love to explore it further.

Kaleidoscope Courses

This year, Kaleidoscope courses will focus on teaching simple, practical life skills that every student should know. Each session will last approximately 30 minutes and will be grouped by grade level to ensure a positive and age-appropriate experience.

While we don’t expect our seventh graders to be jumping car batteries, we do hope to offer sessions such as handwriting improvement, basic sewing, or similar skill-building opportunities.

Volunteers Needed

We are seeking volunteers to help lead these short sessions. Each volunteer will partner with a teacher and guide the activity with assistance from their classroom host. Your time and expertise will make a lasting impact—and the sessions are designed to be fun and approachable for everyone involved.

Below is a list of possible course ideas to consider. This list is not exhaustive, so feel free to suggest additional topics that may be helpful or engaging for our students.
