April 4 will be an e-Learning Day

April 4 will be an e-Learning Day

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is a reminder that Tuesday, April 4, will be an e-Learning Day for all students at all Naperville 203 schools, as this date is an Election Day in our community and many of our buildings across the district will be used as polling places.

Naperville 203 has approval from the DuPage Regional Office of Education and Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to utilize e-Learning Days, when necessary. The approval process consisted of preparing a plan in collaboration with staff and leaders, holding a public hearing, and notifying our community of the district’s intent.

On the April 4 e-Learning Day, students will receive asynchronous instruction and/or school work. This means all learning will occur at each individual student’s pace and place. All student lessons will be available via Canvas by 9 a.m. and staff members will be available from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. to respond to students' needs through email, Canvas or SeeSaw. Please know that teachers have previewed e-Learning expectations with students, including how students should contact staff members if they have questions or need support.

It’s important to note that teachers will not provide live streaming/concurrent instruction or synchronous learning. Instead, students will be given assignments aligned to the current curriculum. Please use the following link to learn more about e-Learning Days in Naperville 203.

Attendance

The State of Illinois recognizes e-Learning days as regular attendance days, thus they will not need to be made up. Naperville 203 will use e-Learning days in lieu of emergency days, which were previously used for emergency school closings.

  • Parents should follow the same absent attendance process as a regular school day

  • Call the school if your student is sick and unable to participate in the e-Learning day

  • Students will be considered present unless excused by a parent/guardian

  • All absences should be called in by 9 a.m.

Tech Support

In preparation for an e-Learning day, students should bring their computers and other technology tools home each day. Please use the following link to Access Tech Support.
