Celebrating a Year of Achievement

Celebrating a Year of Growth, Resilience, and Achievement
Greetings Graduates, SPS Staff, and SPS Families,
As the 2024-25 school year comes to a close, I want to share my gratitude for another year of growth, learning, and collaboration across our district. Over the past 10 months, we built new skills, strengthened relationships, and supported students through every challenge and success.
These past two weeks were filled with joyful celebrations. We cheered on about 600 graduates, as they crossed the stage, diplomas in hand. Whether you were a student, family member, or staff member, the pride and emotion were real. I was inspired by the stories of resilience and encouragement that echoed through every ceremony.
To the Class of 2025, I offer this: remember the mentors, teachers, and friends who helped share your journey. You have built a strong foundation. Use it well. Surround yourself with people who challenge and inspire you. These relationships will continue to guide and enrich your life as you pursue your next chapter. Know that your SPS community is proud of all you have accomplished and eager to see the impact you will make β whether in Springfield or far beyond.
To our staff, thank you! You showed up every day with energy and heart. This year, you learned and implemented new instructional tools, helped students navigate challenges, and made sure our schools and facilities were ready for every lesson and celebration. While no list can capture it all, I encourage you to take a few minutes to watch our Districtβs end-of-year video. Itβs a great reminder of all we achieved together.
To our families, thank YOU for your partnership. Your support helps make learning possible, especially during the moments that challenge and stretch our students the most.
I wish our entire SPS community a safe and joyful summer filled with curiosity, adventure, and rest.
I look forward to reconnecting this fall, ready to support every student, every day.

Superintendent

Social Media Spotlight β‘
Follow SPS on social media for the latest information and what's happening in our schools π±
Report A Safety Concern Online
SPS has made it easier to report instances of harassment, intimidation, bullying, cyberbullying and teen dating violence online.
At the top of every school web page, youβll find a link titled βSafety Concern.β This directs users to two options to report being unsafe at school.
And as always, you can share a concerning incident with a trusted adult by messaging them or talking face to face.
Springfield Public Schools Equity Statement
The SPS equity statement reflects the District's mission of serving every student, every day.
