DBQ Online teachers have discovered the great scaffolds that are built into our platform! Have you?

  • 75% of the assignments activated the Audio Read Aloud! Great decision, teachers, we love those voices, too!
  • Over 85% of the assignments in the platform used the Enhanced Version (EV). Not surprising to us. Teachers and students love our buckets, chickenfeet, and document analysis questions! Scaffold-On! But don't forget to pull away these supports as students master the process.
  • Teachers are using our writing tools to support the hard stuff - that is the writing. Check out these numbers!
    • 30% of assignments used the Essay Builder (Write-On! We LOVE our Essay Builder ♥️ try it if you haven't used it!)
    • 50% activated the Guided Essay Outline (Write-On! These sentence stem outlines build confidence in our most under-confident writers.)
    • And almost 25% are using our Sample Essays to help students visualize the elements of a proficient essay! (Write-On! #ExemplarsMatter!)
  • 37% of the assignments were Customized -- Where teachers modified which documents were being used, sometimes creating one-two document DBQs in a day! (Awesome and honestly surprising that everybody isn't using the customized feature! If you haven't tried it, you're missing the fun!)

How Did the Interstate Highway System Change the United States?

The Interstate Highway System may well be the most successful public works program in our nation’s history. Stretching over 48,000 miles, it weaves through the United States, connecting places all over the country. President Dwight Eisenhower predicted that it would “change the face of America.” This Mini-Q asks you to consider which of the changes brought about by the Interstate Highway System were most significant.

Early Jamestown: Why Did So Many Colonists Die?

In May 1607, about 110 Englishmen arrived at the mouth of a great bay on the coast of what is now the state of Virginia. It was to be the first permanent English colony in what is now the United States. The first years of English settlement were not easy. This Mini-Q asks why so many colonists died.

What Were the Primary Reasons for the "Fall" of Rome?

From about 50 BCE until the year 200 CE, the Roman Empire was the superpower of the Mediterranean world. During that time, the empire’s wealth, territory and international status grew and grew. But even as the empire prospered, it was slowly starting to fall apart. Some of its problems were internal – coming from within Rome itself – and others were external. This Mini-Q explores the factors that led to the eventual fall of one of history’s most powerful and influential empires.
