Happy Friday, CUSD!
Thank you for taking the time to read the newsletter and for your commitment to our shared district community.
A safe and positive school environment relies on continuous evaluation and collaboration with our families. Reinforcing behavioral expectations at home demonstrates a shared commitment to safe and supportive schools. This year we are piloting a Discipline Dashboard in which we will share updates that incorporate discipline data, administrative responses, and helpful resources for parents to support their students at home. We believe this transparent document, which will be updated three times per year, will inform our community about the challenges we face, and the opportunity to strengthen responses. You can access the Discipline Dashboard on our website.
Our students are busy this month and we have three fun activities just tonight! We hope to see many of you at the Village Elementary Harvest Hoedown beginning at 4pm, then it’s Senior Night at the gym as our 31-3 #3 ranked Islander Girls Volleyball team takes on Canyon Hills at 6:15, and finally, at 7pm CoSA performers take the stage at the theater for their production of GREASE! The show only runs through this weekend - with performances tonight at 7pm, Saturday at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday at 2pm) so make sure you get your tickets early. Pre-show tickets are available now at https://www.cosafoundation.org/tickets.
Thank you for sharing your children and this special time of their lives with us. As we enjoy the wonderful events around CUSD, we stand in solidarity, and our hearts are with the community of Bend, Oregon. Thank you to the Coronado Police Department for their extra presence in and around our schools today. The impact of your support and partnership, today and everyday, cannot be overstated.
Have a great weekend,
Karl J. Mueller
Superintendent
