A Note from Dr. Penn
Dear Sidener Academy Families,
I hope this message finds you well! My name is Dr. Milanda Penn, and I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal of Sidener Academy School 59. It is truly an honor to join this remarkable community dedicated to nurturing high-ability learners.
As we embark on this new school year together, my primary goal is to foster an environment where every student feels valued, challenged, and supported. I am committed to building strong relationships with students, families, and staff, ensuring open communication and collaboration as we work towards our shared mission of academic excellence.
As we approach the upcoming fall break, I encourage you to take this opportunity to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with your families. It’s a great time for students to reflect on their progress so far and to explore new interests.
I look forward to getting to know each of you and your incredible children. Together, we will celebrate achievements, overcome challenges, and create memorable experiences. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or ideas you may have as I am here to support you and your children.
Thank you for your warm welcome, and I can’t wait to see what this year holds for us!
Warm regards,
Dr. Milanda Penn

Thank You, Volunteers!
Thank you to all of you who volunteer at Sidener! Your support is so appreciated! Over $5,000 Earned with Chocolate Sales!
Thank you!!
The PTA would like to thank students and families for their participation in the World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser. You crushed our fundraising goal of $3,000 by raising $5,300 for our school! This was truly a group effort with over half of our students selling one or more boxes of chocolates! Our top seller was 4th grader Brielle Van Kirk and our top-selling class was Ms. Rowan's 4th grade homeroom. We look forward to all we can accomplish for our school and students this year with the funds raised. Thank you! Thank you also to Becky Schwantes-An, our PTA president, who took 21 pies to the face last Friday as we celebrated our fundraiser success!
