Happy Easter Tiger Families! I hope everyone had a blessed day and enjoyed the long weekend!

Remember school is not in session Monday 4/21, as our staff has professional development.

During the weeks ahead we will begin our end of the year district testing and state MAP testing. We've worked hard to create strong testing practices here in the Elementary and are hopeful that our Tigers are intrinsically motivated to showcase their knowledge! We aim to foster a growth mindset, by focusing on best effort and all growth no matter how small or large. We want our kiddos to showcase grit and perseverance in all they do!

Our kindergarten crew ventured to Bonkers in Columbia on Friday for their yearly field trip. I believe they had an absolute blast! I want to thank all parents that chose to join our Tigers on their outing, we appreciate you! Additionally, I want to shoutout a few of our staff members that stepped out of their typical roles to support on this trip. Coach Kahrs and Nurse Sandra were more than willing to attend this trip to ensure all of our kinderoonies needs were met. It takes a village y'all and I know our teachers, paras, and I are so thankful for the team we have!

On that note, Smithton will celebrate ALL STAFF the week of May 5th-9th, during Teacher appreciation week. Feel free to spoil our staff and show them your appreciation, as they certainly do a wonderful job!

Please be mindful that consistent end of the day routines allow for dismissal to go smoothly and students to get where they need to be safely. We understand this isn't always possible, but encourage this as best practice.

Tuesday, April 29th- 5/6 Band and Choir Concert

6:00 Choir in Old Gym

7:00 Band in High school gym

Tuesday, April 29th-May 2nd 3-6th grade MAP testing (get your motivational letters in if you haven't already)

May 13th, 6:00 Preschool Graduation (High School Gym)

May 14th, LAST DAY OF SCHOOL/ k-6 Awards Assembly (schedule TBD)
