Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences were held on October 13th and 14th. At SMS, our goal was to have 100% contact with all of our families. We can say that we did so! 80% of our student population had parents and guardians meet with their students's R-Time teacher. If families were unable to attend, a personal note was sent home to update them on their child's progress. Excellent discussion focused on student growth took place, and we are so thankful for your effort toward your child's education! We will utilize the same format for our upcoming Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences in March!

On October 27, 2015, approximately 40 SMS students attended the Nebraska Latino Summit in Kearney, Nebraska. Students heard from a variety of motivating speakers that game them encouragement and tools to achieve their, "American Dream." It was an incredibly motivating opportunity for staff and students that encouraged each person to grow and improve every day.

Schuyler Community Schools Staff recently took part in a day of technology enrichment to help grow our student population. Staff members heard a world-renowned speaker, as well as several local high-level experts. Please see how staff and students are utilizing lessons learned by following #SCS123 on Twitter.

At the end of September, Fabian Ramirez spoke to all SMS students about the opportunity to learn from our past and use it to improve ourselves. Mr. Ramirez explained how caring parents and teachers helped make a positive difference in his life, and he encouraged students to seek out individuals that cared about them, too. At the end of his presentation, Mr. Ramirez took a selfie with all 385 Warrior Students!
