Husky Howl
March 9, 2026
Huskies,
It was a great week at Huffines as students and staff continued to show what it means to be part of the Husky Pack. Here are a few highlights from last week:
- Our Orchestra, under the direction of Mr. Jaime, earned Sweepstakes at UIL. Congratulations to our talented musicians for their outstanding performance!
- Our Non-Varsity Band, led by Ms. Binoya, also earned Sweepstakes at UIL. We are proud of the dedication and hard work of these students.
- Huffines received support from the VSharp Music Foundation through a grant that will help strengthen opportunities for our Orchestra program.
- Spanish classes participated in gallery walks, where students shared and explored their learning with one another.
- Our staff enjoyed a painting activity during lunches on Friday, taking time to connect and recharge as we continue supporting our students.
The third nine weeks grading period (39T) ends Friday. Please check Skyward and review grades with your student as we close out the grading period. Students may gain or lose UIL eligibility based on their performance.
YOU CAN’T HIDE THAT HUSKY PRIDE!

Counselors Corner
In Lewisville ISD, the whole child is at the core of everything we do as a district, including our students' mental, emotional and physical health. With counselors on every campus, LISD knows parents want their children to receive an outstanding education, but more importantly, they want their children to be nurtured and cared for beyond just academics.
LISD provides families with resources to ensure each child receives the support they need to develop every aspect of their being. Please see the topics and linked resources below:
Should you need more information on the above topics or are in need of support for your child in a different area, please reach out to your counselor.
