Collaboration in the Community
Partnerships
We are excited to be exploring a new partnership with a local student brass ensemble. Through this collaboration, MusicAid hopes to help bring more live music to senior communities while creating new service opportunities for student musicians.
As MusicAid continues to grow, we hope to work with more student-led groups and community organizations, giving young musicians more opportunities to take leadership, develop their own service projects, and use music to support the community.
We look forward to expanding these partnerships in the coming year and making MusicAid an even more open platform for students who want to turn their ideas into meaningful community service.
Piano Lessons& New announcements
Piano Lessons
MusicAid is dedicated to spreading the joy of music by making it more accessible for everyone. Over the past few years, we have been mainly focused on performing at multiple local venues and providing free piano accompaniments to any performer in need.
Recently, MusicAid expanded its goals by offering instrumental lessons. We are proud to announce that Gloria has now started teaching piano to a 6 year old boy, Nathan, who living near Baltimore. Despite the distance from our Potomac location, we are glad to accomodate for those eager to learn. This is now the second child to have received a free piano lesson from us. They have had regular lessons three times already, which is also scheduled to be every weekend now. Ella is now teaching 11 year old girl Paige piano lesson every Monday.
Our Performances
Thank you to everyone who came to perform this month! We had very few students attend the events, so every minute counted. We are so grateful for all those beautiful pieces that we got to listen through, including but absolutely not limited to a violin song composed by Michael Jackson. This unique piece of music was composed in 1991 and it was a “call” for the war veterans and children who are suffering or in poverty.
We also had someone play the Morin Khuur, a traditional Mongolian instrument, also named the horsehead fiddle, hence the carved wooden horse head on the instrument. It is one of the most important instruments that the Mongol people play, and it is also seen as a symbol of Mongolia.
We really do appreciate all those who contributed!
Thank you again so much for your cooperation and continued support!
New Team Members
We have some new team members join us this month, and we are really excited to get to know every one of you! These talented students have discovered a variety of instruments and genres, and have earned a position as one of our Executive Team Members!
