Dear Acres Green Elementary Family:
Thank you for your partnership over the past year as we have worked to consolidate Acres Green Elementary with Fox Creek Elementary. We understand that a school transition is never easy for families.
We recognize the impact that consolidating schools has had on our family and community. We are also seeking to make the best decisions that we can for the long-term benefit for our students and communities. As we have worked through the process of developing boundaries for the new elementary school in RidgeGate and given the latest enrollment projections for Eagle Ridge Elementary, we find ourselves in a position of having to make additional adjustments for families currently located in the Heritage Hills area, along Park Meadows Drive, and residences south of Lone Tree Parkway (see the hashed area on the map below), as it is now possible for these families to attend the school that is closer to their homes. This change will impact the boundaries for some of our current Acres Green families, including yours.
This means that effective next school year, your assigned neighborhood school will be Eagle Ridge Elementary instead of Silver Spruce Elementary (the Acres Green/Fox Creek consolidated school).
Elementary School Reassignment Effective for the 2026-2027 School Year
YOUR FAMILY'S OPTIONS
We realize that as part of the closing of the Acres Green Elementary building, we committed to ensuring that your student(s) would be moving to Silver Spruce Elementary along with their classmates. Therefore, we want to offer you the following enrollment options so that you can make the best choice for your family.
OPTION 1: Enroll in Eagle Ridge Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year.
As this will be the new assigned neighborhood elementary school based on your home address, your child(ren) will be guaranteed a seat for any grade level at Eagle Ridge Elementary School.
In addition, school bus transportation to Eagle Ridge Elementary (if needed) will be available to your family in the 2026-2027 school year and beyond.
Future neighborhood bus stops will be identified over the summer and stop information will be provided to you by the end of July 2026.
Families will register for bus service through the Engage Parent Portal
OPTION 2: Enroll in Silver Spruce Elementary School (previously Fox Creek Elementary).
Your child(ren) will be guaranteed a seat for any grade level at Silver Spruce Elementary.
School bus transportation to Silver Spruce Elementary School will be provided to your family for the 2026-2027 school year only (if needed).
The school bus stop will be located at the former Acres Green Elementary building.
Should your family choose option 2 and require school bus transportation, you will be asked to register for bus service by May 1, 2026. Register here.
OPTION 3: Enroll in a DCSD elementary school other than Eagle Ridge Elementary or Silver Spruce Elementary.
Because Acres Green is consolidating, your student(s) will be given first priority for seats in other DCSD elementary schools should you choose to open enroll. See policy JCA/JFB-R.

School bus transportation will NOT be provided to your family under option 3.
NEXT STEPS
We realize this is a big decision and that your family may need some time to explore your options. Here are next steps and more information you will receive.
PERSONAL PHONE CALL: Within the next week I, or another staff member, will personally contact you via phone to discuss this boundary change, hear your feedback and questions, and help you navigate the decision-making process.
COMMUNITY MEETINGS: Attend an upcoming information meeting where you will have the opportunity to learn more about this boundary change, transportation accommodations discussed above, and the use of the Acres Green building when it closes, along with any other questions you may have.
