HMS Hiller Heads-Up

Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! Our staff will be spending Monday and Tuesday of this week preparing their classrooms and materials, engaging in professional development, and looking forward to welcoming students back to HMS on Wednesday morning. There will be a lot of energy in the building for sure!

In keeping with our school’s mission of “Growing an active community of strong minds and kind hearts”, we will spend time during the first two days of school adjusting to being back at school and our daily schedule, establishing clear routines and building positive classroom relationships.

I ask that you please remind your student that we are returning to school; school appropriate behavior is expected and cell phones are to be completely powered off during the school day. If your student is not yet ready to assume this responsibility of powering down their phone prior to the start of home room, please encourage them to leave it at home.

We are very pleased to introduce Lauren McDonough as the new Assistant Principal at HMS. Lauren has worked at HMS since 2015, most recently in the role of Grade 6 ELA teacher. She is excited to get to work, and we are looking forward to her bringing a warm sense of humor and supportive nature as she works with students throughout the building. Welcome, Lauren!

Every week you will receive a copy of this newsletter, the HMS Hiller Heads Up. Here you will find links and information on what is happening at Hopkinton Middle School. Please note at the bottom of the newsletter you will find the links for our dismissal and absentee/tardy forms.
