Principal's Message

This past week, we held our Tri-M Music Honor Society Induction Ceremony and Music Department Cabaret. If you are looking for something fun to do this week, please consider attending the Music Department's Spring Concert outdoors at EHHS. I will continue to update families via Parent Square regarding events and important year end information. Additionally, we will be recognizing our students who have achieved either Honor Roll or High Honor Roll status for all 3 academic quarters this school year during morning X-Block Meetings. Please join me in congratulating all of our students who achieved Honor Roll status this school year.

Journalism Class News

The semester 2 Journalism News Crew just completed and published the second Belltown Times Newspaper! After working hard to interview and collect information from the high school and the town, these reporters put pen to paper and told their stories. Hardcopies of the newspaper are available at the high school.

Business Food Club

Thank you to all who supported our Food Drive. As you can see from the picture attached, it was a success. The freshman class (and their homeroom teachers) donated the largest number of items.

Creative Writing Class News

Over the past month, our Creative Writing class has met with instructor Elizabeth Thomas and writers from the East Hampton Senior Center to write together. Through the sharing of our thoughts, feelings and creative energy on paper and out loud, we have developed wonderful community relationships. The knowledge and appreciation of individual experiences intertwined with the love of language have been truly special. As a culminating event for this school year, the Senior Center is hosting a ‘Writers Read 2’ program. Several of the Seniors we’ve met, along with our very own seniors, shared their poetry this past week via Zoom.

Google Meets Guidelines

East Hampton High students have returned to Full-In-Person learning. As a result, our teachers will be focusing on larger in-person classes. Therefore, there is no Hybrid option or the ability to GOOGLE MEET into the classroom. There are only 3 specific cases in which students will be allowed to GOOGLE MEET into classes:
  1. Students who are quarantining: This will hopefully be a very limited number of students as time goes on.
  2. Students who are COVID-19 positive: This should be an even smaller number.
  3. Students who are awaiting results from COVID-19 testing:

Teachers will have links posted as soon as possible during the day for students. Please be patient as information is constantly changing and Google Meet Links may not be available right at the beginning of the school day due to communication or teacher absences.

If you are not feeling well.....

In order to keep our schools open, we are asking that all families follow the Guidelines set out below. This will assist in keeping everyone healthy and safe as we work to keep school open.

If students are feeling ill, please get them tested and DO NOT SEND them to school until you have received negative test results.

If a family member is ill, please consider having the entire family tested and do not send children to school until you have received negative test results.

Please do not send your children to school if they have been tested for COVID-19 for any reason. Please wait until you have received negative test results before sending your children back to school.

Updated 2021 AP Exam Information

ATTENTION AP Students

Good Afternoon AP Students, Parents and Teachers,

As you may already know there have been a number of changes to this years AP Exams.

At this time, I know that you are all aware of the date, time and format of your scheduled exam. For your convience I have included an updated list at the bottom of this message.

This year we have only a handful of paper and pencil exams- so the majority of our exams AND ALL of our make up exams will be DIGITAL- AP has asked all schools to make sure that everyone of our students are prepared to take the digital exams due to absence or quarantine.

All AP students need to complete the necessary steps that I discussed in detail yesterday during my mandatory AP Meeting. I shared a detailed slide presentation that included screenshots and step by step directions for completing the required 4 STEPS for digital preparedness in order for students to take each exam.

It is critcal that every step be followed along the way- starting with students using thier district issued ChromeBook- Mrs. Kuck attended our meeting yesterday so that she could assess the list of students that are using their own personal devices. The only way to access the Digital Testing App is on a school issued device- Mrs. Kuck will be in touch wiht the students that signed off indicating that they are using personal devies.

All 4 steps must be completed in order to ensure that students will be able to take their Digital Exams.

Teachers have already shared the slides in their Google Classroom and I am going to include them here as well.https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1YfkJjllpaHjjXWqTuYbZ-6kKcdEwCxtjyHh8zq-mjI0/edit?usp=sharing

Lastly, it is important that students arrive 45 minutes early for every digital exam- AP is requiring that students are now logged in waiting for the exam to begin 30 minutes early.

  • This means that for an exam that had a 12 noon start - previously I had asked that all students be to their exam at 11:30 however with the new expectations set forth by CollegeBoard/AP- students MUST be present in their testing room at 11:15

All arrival times have been adjusted for the digital exams.
Please see the updated schedule below:

June 7 - AP Language - 11:15 AM - Town Hall Training Room

Please reach out to your either your AP teacher or myself- Mrs. Sullivan if you have any questions or concerns specific to your 2021 Digital Preparedness.
