Principal's Message
Hello Yowell Families, this is Mrs. Fiscus with your weekly update!
I just have to start by saying thank you for all of your support with our fall fundraiser. I am truly blown away by your generosity. 💙 I even shared a playground equipment catalog with one of our 5th graders, and he quickly picked out a piece that cost $130,000! Needless to say, we won’t be getting that one — LOL — but we will be getting new pieces for both of our playgrounds, and that is so exciting.
A couple of important announcements this week:

Sports Clubs are canceled this Thursday, September 18th. The make-up day will be Thursday, November 6th. Please mark your calendars.

We are also hosting our Back to School Night this Thursday, September 18th, from 5:30–6:30 pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to come in, see your child’s classroom, and celebrate all of the good things happening at Yowell. We can’t wait to see you there!
I have to tell you, it is a complete joy to be the principal of Yowell. We truly have a fantastic school filled with students who are doing their very best and teachers who are filling their brains with knowledge every single day.

Transportation Information
In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here. Also, this is the direct link to transportation.
Parents of students Pre-K through Grade 3 are expected to meet their children at the bus stop. Failure to do so will result in the child(ren) being returned to school. Should you choose to allow your child(ren) to be dropped off without supervision in the afternoon, please fill out and return this document.
We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.

School Resource Officer (SRO)
We are happy to have a School Resource Officer (SRO) this year at Yowell. You can contact Deputy Brandon Mack with any concerns you have with school safety or anything that would be related to criminal activity.
