The KISD Gold Standard

Killeen ISD students put their learning into action in two standout academic events this season. Nearly 300 elementary students participated in the Elementary Science Olympiad, exploring hands-on science and problem-solving, while more than 700 middle school students competed in Middle School UIL Academics across a range of subjects. Together, these events showcased student talent, teamwork and the district’s commitment to creating golden opportunities for learning to come alive.

Killeen ISD students got a golden opportunity to help shape future school meals during School Nutrition’s 4th Annual Food Fest. Students from elementary, middle and high school sampled possible menu items, from mozzarella sticks to blueberry pancakes, and shared feedback on what they want to see next year. It was a fun way to give students a voice while helping the district plan meals they’ll actually enjoy.

After 31 years of coaching and teaching, Ellison boys soccer head coach Niles Dunnells stepped off the sideline for the final time. A proud Ellison graduate, he leaves behind a legacy of leadership, mentorship and lasting impact on generations of student-athletes. Killeen ISD is proud to celebrate a career defined by loyalty, service and care for students and families.
