Scheduling Update
What Happened With Scheduling This Year?
This year when the computer populated classes, there was a glitch in the labeling of classes (computer language). This jumbled the 6th Grade Band kids into wrong sections and created an interesting first week for all of us. That is getting resolved now. Whew!!!
6th Grade Band
Our student schedules are being updated in PowerSchool and we are getting closer to 100% accuracy for 6th Grade. This should be completed this week. If your student was in school last week but received a "UA" for Band, Choir, or PE, that may indicate that their schedule has changed from their original schedule given to them this year. Please log in and confirm with your 6th Grader what their schedule currently says. We will correct all attendance and errors on our end. Feel free to reach out to us with questions. "PMA" is "A" Day - "PMB" is "B" day.
5th Grade Band
Once 6th grade schedules are complete, we will have our 5th grade schedules revised to ensure accuracy. Just a reminder that regardless of what your schedule currently says, your 5th Grade students will have band on the following days:

- Trumpets & Trombones - "B" Day
Let's Get The Show On The Road
5th Grade Band
Please make sure your student remembers their instrument on their assigned day. When in doubt, bring the instrument to school anyway. This will ensure that they have their instrument just in case. Each day without their instrument is lost learning for them. Please have them leave their books and music stands at home. We will have handouts and music stands ready for them at school. If your student doesn't have a Red Book, please have them bring in $10 and we will give them a new one. We order them from Meyer Music to have them on hand.
6th Grade Band
6th Grade Band moves along much faster than 5th Grade Band. It is important that your student is ready to go and has an instrument each day. 6th Grade Band students should bring their Red Book to band each day. If you don't have a Red Book, we can get you another for $10. Later this year, they will move into the Blue Book.
Walt Disney World 2025
We are excited to prepare for our Mickey Mouse vacation in Walt Disney World for 2025. This trip is for our Middle School Band students (current 6th grade). Sign-ups will be in October. More information can be found in the link below.
5th Graders...Don't worry, we have great plans for you, too!
Cookie Dough Fundraiser
Our annual Cookie Dough fundraiser will be coming up in the next couple of weeks. This fundraiser is EXTREMELY important to generate funds for our RPI Band Program. These funds are used to do all of the "extras" that kids have grown to love. From purchasing new instruments, music, and equipment to the endless supply of Cosmic Brownies, we use these funds to reward our kids for their hard work and to purchase necessary band-related supplies and instruments for student success.
In 2025, our Middle School Band will be traveling to Walt Disney World during mid-winter break for a 5 day fun in the sun vacation with Mickey and friends! For 6th Graders, the generated profit will be placed into your Disney account if you choose to go.
5th Graders...NO WORRIES...we have special things in store for your future!
