Dear Wilson Families,

We are grateful for the many ways our community continues to show up for our students. Last week, we shared a special moment at the Wilson Welcome Center as 1,000 pairs of shoes were given out to students who attended on the 100th day of school. Thanks to our supportive community partners, every single student was able to go home with a new pair of shoes. Seeing smiling faces and confident steps was a powerful reminder of what is possible when we come together. Moments like these reflect the Wilson Way and remind us that we are more than just a district, we are a family.

We also welcomed our newest students this week to Wilson Primary School for Kinder Night. An informative and fun afternoon where families met our preschool and kinder team and enrolled their child for the 2026-2027 school year. If you missed it, please feel free to stop by our school and enroll your child with us. We are excited for them to experience a Wilson education!

This upcoming month, we proudly honor Black History Month throughout our schools and district office. All month long, students will learn about influential leaders, significant contributions, and the rich history that has helped shape our nation. Through these lessons, students will engage in meaningful conversations, reflection, and develop a deeper understanding of our shared history.

Thank you for trusting us with your children and for being an essential part of our community. Together, we will continue to learn, grow, and care for one another—the Wilson Way.

With appreciation,
Mr. Rose
Superintendent
Wilson Elementary School District

Community Cleanup: Wilson Strong Community Cleanup: Wilson Strong

Thank you to everyone who came together to support our community cleanup this weekend. We are grateful to Sky Harbor Airport, the Sky Harbor Coalition, the City of Phoenix, Vice Mayor Kesha Hodge Washington, and the many builders, construction companies, and community leaders who volunteered their time and efforts.

This event was a powerful example of what can happen when organizations and community members unite with a shared purpose. Your commitment to caring for our neighborhood helps create a safer, cleaner, and more welcoming environment for our families and students. We truly appreciate each and every partner who made this day possible.

District Parent Meetings: Building Vision Together District Parent Meetings: Building Vision Together

Last week, we were excited to welcome families to our District Parent Meetings, where parents and guardians had the opportunity to learn more about what is happening inside our classrooms and how they can continue to support student success at home.

During the meeting, families engaged in meaningful conversations about instruction, resources, and district initiatives. One of the highlights of the day was creating vision boards together—an activity that encouraged families to reflect on their goals for their children and the future they are building as a community.

We are grateful for the strong partnership we share with our families and the time they take to stay connected and involved. Moving forward, District Parent Meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of every month, and we look forward to continuing these important conversations together.

Thank you for being such an essential part of the Wilson family.

Parent–Teacher Conferences Coming Up Parent–Teacher Conferences Coming Up

We wanted to share a quick reminder with families about our upcoming Parent–Teacher Conferences, scheduled for February 11th and 12th.

Parent–Teacher Conferences are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, learn more about academic progress, and discuss ways to support learning both at school and at home. These conversations play an important role in helping our students grow and succeed.

Additional details will be shared by your child’s school and teacher. We encourage all families to participate and take advantage of this time to partner closely with our educators.

Thank you for your continued involvement and support—we truly believe that when families and schools work together, students thrive.

Kinder Adventures: ABC's Easy As 123 Kinder Adventures: ABC's Easy As 123

Our kindergarten students are working hard on their writing skills. They have mastered learning the alphabet and are currently working through sentence stems to create their own phrases. Their creativity comes alive as they draw pictures to match the stories they are writing.

Writing is more than just letters on a page—it is about expressing ideas, sharing stories and seeing their imagination come to life. We are so proud of the growth our kindergarteners have had in their first five months in school!

Our second graders had an exciting experience exploring the marimba in music class. Students learned new rhythms and created music melodies. Our daily enrichment classes have turned into magical moments where students discover their hidden talents and passions!

Music is about more than just playing an instrument—it is about teamwork, listening to one another and celebrating every small success along the way. We love seeing the confidence and happiness our students gain through these experiences, and we cannot wait to hear about the new songs and rhythms they will discover next!

Fifth Graders Focused on Writing Success Fifth Graders Focused on Writing Success

Our fifth-grade students have been hard at work in writing class, demonstrating focus, creativity, and a strong commitment to excellence. From drafting to revising, students are sharpening their skills and learning how to clearly express their ideas with confidence.

It’s inspiring to see the level of engagement and growth happening in our classrooms every day. These lessons reflect the strong foundation being built at Wilson as students prepare for future academic success.
