"Inspiring Every Student, Through Every Experience, Every Day!" "Inspiring Every Student, Through Every Experience, Every Day!"

Dear Families,

They say that "April showers bring May flowers," and as we walk through our hallways this week, we can see those "flowers" everywhere. we see them in the confidence of our first graders as they prepare for their second grade year, in the teamwork of our fifth graders as they tackle complex math problems and prepare for middle school, and in the kindness our students show one another on the playground during these beautiful spring days.

May is traditionally one of our busiest months, filled with "grand finale" moments and transitions. Here is a look at what’s blooming at Oxford Elementary this month:

The Home Stretch: Finishing Strong While the weather is getting warmer and our thoughts are turning toward summer, we are reminding our students that there is still important learning to be done! This month, we are focusing on "The Big Finish"—completing our final CKLA units, wrapping up our math scope and sequence, and celebrating the academic milestones each child has reached since September.

Warm Weather and Dress Code: With the beautiful Wisconsin spring finally arriving, we know students are eager to break out their summer wardrobes! As temperatures rise, we kindly ask for your partnership in ensuring students follow the Dress Code in the Student Handbook.

End-of-Year Excitement: We have several exciting events on the horizon. Please make sure you look at the May Calendar for all of our upcoming events.

A Heartfelt Thank You As we round out the year, we want to extend a sincere thank you to you—our families. Whether you volunteered for a field trip, helped with homework, or simply shared a kind word with our staff, you are a vital part of the "soil" that helps our students grow.

We look forward to a spectacular May filled with sunshine, smiles, and a strong finish to a wonderful school year.

Warmly,

Mrs. Brandy Miner and Mrs. Nikki Meinhardt

Dress Code for Elementary Students

As the weather becomes warmer, we want to remind families to review our student dress code expectations outlined in the student handbook (page 14). Students should come to school in clothing that is clean and appropriately covers their bodies. This includes ensuring that clothing does not expose the stomach or chest and does not have openings all the way down the sides. In addition, shorts and other clothing items must be at least as long as the student’s knuckles when their arms are at their sides.

Also, during the school day students are expected to remove hats, caps, bandannas, head coverings, and jackets once they enter the building. These items should be placed in the student’s locker and not worn throughout the school day. Students may wear them only when they have just arrived, preparing to leave the building or special events such as Hat Day.

We appreciate your support in helping all students come to school dressed appropriately and ready to learn.
