Extra Change of Clothes

Please send an extra change of clothes with all elementary students. This is not just for potty accidents, students often spill food/drink on them, or sometimes outside projects can get messy. Nurse Kadie has a few clothing items to use in case of emergency. If we do not have your child's size, a parent or emergency contact will be called to bring a change of clothes to school.

Water Bottles & Drinking Fountains

Our drinking fountains are turned on, and we also have several bottle filling stations throughout the building. Teachers ask that students bring a water bottle with them each day to reduce the amount of time out of the classroom getting drinks. Please make sure your child's water bottle is clearly labeled with their name. We will no longer provide water bottles to students.

School Supplies

Classroom supply lists can be found here: https://bit.ly/3QK3dBJ

Please bring all supplies with you to open house so students do not have so much to carry on the first day.

Contact Mr. Faulkner, our counselor, if you need assistance with supplies, backpacks, and/or coats. You can email him at faulknerj@grandviewr2.org or by calling the elementary office.

Thank you for your continued support!

Reset Room - new!

Our district recognizes that the past few years have brought many challenges for students and families. As a new support for students' social, emotional, and mental well being, we have added a behavior paraprofessional to run a "reset room." The reset room will be used as a calming space for students to practice deep breathing, think through their emotions, and take a break if they are upset or overstimulated. They will practice strategies that can be used in the classroom to help them learn to manage their emotions on their own.

Students will always be supervised by a paraprofessional or counselor while in the room, this is not a seclusionary space. Teachers will contact parents/guardians if your child leaves the classroom to visit the reset room.

How can parents help? If your child visits the reset room, discuss the reason they were sent, how that incident made them feel, and what strategies they can use in the future to calm down and return to learning.

Parent Drop Off and Pick Up Directions

Parents who wish to drop off and/or pick up their child from school should use the route pictured in the photo map above. When turning onto campus from highway C, turn right on the first paved road that goes behind the elementary school. Follow the road all the way around until you come up by the gymnasium. About 8 cars are loaded/unloaded at a time.

If you are first in line, please make sure to pull all the way up to the crossing guard holding the stop sign. Students should exit the vehicle quickly and walk close to the building to stay away from traffic. Once all students have exited the vehicles safely, the crossing guard will turn the sign to "slow" and the next set of 8-10 cars moves forward to repeat the process.

Please do not use the road near the main entrance for private vehicle drop off. This is for use by school buses only.
