Chamisa Families,

Please join us for our annual Veterans Day Pancake Breakfast on Nov 10, 2026 from 7:00–8:10 a.m. Plates are $5, and all proceeds will be donated to local VFW Post 8874. Following breakfast, Chamisa’s Middle Team (3rd & 4th grades) will host a special Veterans Day Music Performance starting at 8:15 a.m. We look forward to coming together as a community to honor our veterans!

There will be no school this Wednesday, 11/11/26. We hope you have a great week and a meaningful Veteran’s Day.

FYI: Communicable Disease Protocol

Dear LAPS Families,

To keep our classrooms safe and healthy, we are following guidance from the CDC and NMDOH to reduce the spread of communicable illnesses. Please review these key health practices and district guidelines:

Our licensed School Nurse, Michele Wright; m.wright@laschools.net; is available to answer health questions or discuss student medical needs. As a rule, students must stay home if they have a fever of 100F or higher, vomiting, or diarrhea. They may return once they are fever-free for 24 hours without medication and symptoms are improving.
We actively instruct students on proper handwashing (20 seconds with soap and water) and respiratory etiquette (covering coughs/sneezes with an elbow or tissue). Additionally, our custodial team cleans and sanitizes high-touch campus surfaces daily using EPA-approved disinfectants.
We will notify families if noticeable illness trends occur on campus. Please ensure your contact details are updated in ParentVUE so we can reach you promptly if your child falls ill. Emergency updates will be sent via email, text, and district announcements.

Art To Remember Fundraiser: Great Christmas Presents

Hi families and friends,

Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 60 products, and many are less than $20. These make great gifts, and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school.

Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child's order form to search for your child's artwork. Please look for your student’s flyer in their backpacks or home folders.

Art to Remember orders are due November 12th.
