Dear Parents and Carers,
Thank you once again for a week full of supportive messages and kind words. Thank you for understanding what we are trying to do even if we don’t always get it right the first time. The majority of children have used the field really well this week and lots of parents have sent in waterproofs and puddlesuits/overalls to go with their wellies. I am going to resend the letter I sent to you last year but here is a quote from it, “The experiences the school is fostering are essential for children’s physical and mental wellbeing and are in line with all current good practice advice on health and safety, wellbeing and development.” The field will be used for Forest School next week so this will give us time to speak to the children (again!) about how to use the field appropriately. If you would like your child to use school waterproofs rather than bringing their own, please let your child’s class teacher know.
The school Christmas fair will take place on Tuesday 2nd December and Friends of Kirk Fenton would be very grateful for some volunteers to take a turn on the day. I will leave a sign up sheet in the school office for the fair and also the Christmas disco. Unfortunately, if we don’t have any help, we may have to cancel these events.
A reminder that all year groups (apart from Year 4) will have Forest school next week. There has been mention of snow so please make sure they are dressed for the weather. Layers work really well and it is always better to be too hot than too cold when learning outside!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend,
Mel Walmsley
Headteacher

Calling all bakers!
Feeling inspired by this year’s Bake Off? The team at Friends of Kirk Fenton would love your help! We’re looking for cake donations for our Christmas Fair on Tuesday 2nd December.
We’re also excited to introduce a bric-a-brac tombola this year, and we’d greatly appreciate donations of:
Toys, games, and puzzles in good condition (clean, complete, and working)
Unused toiletries
Small homeware or knick-knacks
It’s the perfect excuse for a little pre-Christmas clear-out.
For our bakers: Please drop your delicious creations off at the school either on the 1st December or the morning of the 2nd.
For bric-a-brac donations: Please bring them to the school the week commencing 24th November.
