Happy Friday, CUSD!

Congratulations to our Preschool staff! Both Village and Silver Strand earned the highest quality rating through the San Diego Quality Preschool Initiative. Read all about it in our Newsroom.

Shout out to CUSD Adult Transition educator CareyAnn Sutherland for being honored by the South County SELPA for her contributions to special education!

A major focus at the end of the year is our LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) which will be approved by the Board and sent to the State in June. A draft of the 2025-2026 LCAP can be accessed at the following link: DRAFT 2025-2026 LCAP

PLEASE register your student for next school year. We plan staffing and classes based on the number of registered students and not having a good idea of our enrollment numbers could result in last minute changes to classes and schedules after the start of school in August. Beginning next week, we will place a Force Registration on ParentVUE accounts. The program will allow ParentVUE users to log into their account 2 times with a message to register. On the third visit users will be unable to proceed into ParentVUE without registering their child(ren).

• Mike Dolan is an inspiringly positive, cooperative, easygoing ray of sunshine on our campus. Mike's kindness and humor infuses his work with students and colleagues. His interactions and messages to families are reassuring and encouraging. He is always willing to pitch in and help and never says no. We are grateful for Mike's school spirit and positive vibes. Thank you, Mike!
• Mr. Jeremy Handysides goes above and beyond as a teacher. He truly cares about his students. He makes a huge impact not only the special education students but the general education students also by spearheading the best buddies program. He is full of compassion and kindness!
• Sheri Burkhart, our SSES VAPA teacher, has been a wonderful addition to our staff and Voyager Family. She has entered our students' artwork in local exhibitions and showcased their wonderful projects at CSF's Art and Wine Festival. She has served as a visiting artist during teacher releases and also substitute teaches for us on IEP days. Sheri is a talented art teacher, skilled instructor, and positive and generous member of our school community!
