🌎 Culture Corner 📹

CULTURE CORNER has become part of the Friday video announcements that play for the whole school! We teach a new word or phrase in different languages, and sometimes we also feature presentations about our cultures. Over the past 2 years since CC started, we have recorded about 60 presentations!!! I am so proud of each and every one of our EL Student Leaders for their courage in speaking, for their collaboration with other classmates and for their pride in themselves, their home language and cultural background. Stay tuned for more exciting content to come!

We now have 2 logos to represent our CC members at SU & at FG!

Our amazing EL Student Leaders have been working so hard on our Culture Corner presentations that the custom logos that I designed for us have now become T-shirts! We wear these when we record our segments, and to show off our pride in who we are and what we do!

Culture Corner celebrated the Hindu "Holi" tradition of throwing paint powder at each other! Click the photo to see our video!

We would like to make our own Culture Corner Cookbook, but we can't do it without your help. We would like to include 4 or 5 recipes of traditional dishes/drinks from each of the cultures we represent. Please email a list with the names of your favorite traditional foods and/or drinks, along with the recipe or a link to the recipes to Mrs. Jacques at: glorjacq@hssdschools.org. It could be a snack, appetizer, entrée, dessert, or drink. This is going to be delicious, delicioso, thơm ngon, qab, स्वादिष्ट, вкусный! Thank you in advance!!! 😋
