Last night, our community came together to celebrate the many different winter celebrations from our very own Forest Hills community, including Hanukkah, Chinese New Year, and Diwali. We tried the food from these holidays as well as from Serbia and South Africa, and spent time experiencing the art and music of these places and traditions. Thank you to all of our volunteers who made this evening a time of celebration and community!

As we edge closer to winter, please be sure to review the LOSD emergency communications page of our district website for information, including when and how you will be notified if we have a school closure or delay.

Lakers players, cheer team, and pep band made a visit to Forest Hills yesterday. Best of luck to the team in today's 6A State Championship game against Central Catholic!

The evening meetings will be at 7:00 PM at Round Table Pizza, 16444 Boones Ferry Rd. Upcoming evening meeting sare January 9, March 11, and May 13. Bring the whole family and enjoy the evening. Guest speakers will be announced prior to meetings. Daytime meetings will continue as scheduled (Forest Hills LIbrary @ 8:30 AM, February 13 and April 9).

Every year, Oregon students take assessments prescribed by the State Department of Education. The purpose of these assessments is to provide data that schools can use to ensure each and every child is on track and achieving learning goals. Results are also used to inform course placement and provide focused feedback to students and parents.

State law requires us to inform you that a form is available from the Oregon Department of Education that allows you to opt your child out of the Math and English Language Arts assessments for the 2019-20 school year. Should you wish to opt out your child, fill out the form and submit it to the main office at your child’s school. Please note the submission deadline of January 1, 2020. Meeting this deadline will help your child's school with planning and preparation, and is particularly critical for 11th graders who test earlier than other students.
