TOP STORY 2: Fall Play Opens Tonight
Opening tonight (Nov. 3), Monstersongs — H-F Theatre's fall play — will put you in a synthesized world of graphic novels, rock musicals, live performance and new technology. Scary, silly and heartfelt, Monstersongs flips the switch on the monster narrative, inviting you to explore the humanity that binds us all. Recommended for ages 10, Monstersongs will be directed by Mr. Willard-Rose, Ms. Cassady & Mrs. Calderon and will feature a talented cast of H-F student-performers in the Performing Arts Center. Costume design is by Mrs. Helsel-Wilk, technical direction is by Mr. Tholl and the music director is Mr. Sifner. The show will run at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, and Friday, Nov. 4; a 2 p.m. matinee show will run on Saturday, Nov. 5. Congratulations to the cast:

Class Engineers Solutions for Real Problem
In Mrs. White's Introduction to Engineering, students used the engineering-design process to attempt to solve a real-world problem at H-F. Students were charged with finding a solution to spectators sitting in the bleachers and dropping belongings through the open spaces. Students took into consideration the burden the problem placed on H-F staff charged with the task of retrieving these items. When considering their solutions, students created a decision matrix and compared the cost efficiency, installment time, durability, safety and maintenance cost of multiple ideas. A special thank you to Mr. Patterson, Director of Operations and Maintenance, and Mr. Beebe, Project Lead The Way CTE Instructor, for coming to support our aspiring engineers. Great work, Vikings!
