Potato Head Attendance Challenge Has STARTED!

Dear Families,

First, I just wanted to remind families that there is NO PRESCHOOL tomorrow. Each month, the preschool team has scheduled non-instructional days to complete home visits, paperwork, etc. These dates are shared upfront, so this is just a reminder.

We are excited to launch our potato head "chip party" challenge that we issued last year. We are excited for our classrooms to receive their Mr. Potato Head characters and start earning pieces toward their chip parties! You can learn more about the challenge by clinking the video link below. Thank you to Ms. Ivy, our Family Resource Coordinator, for securing funding for this challenge and launching it!

Our flu shot clinics are this TUESDAY and FRIDAY. This is only for students who turned in signed permission forms. The window for that sign-up has closed.

Please save the date for October 1st and 2nd. These will be our school picture days. These are the photos used in the school yearbook and you may also purchase them as a way to support our school.

If you need assistance with the app in any way, please call the NPES office at 270-351-4464 or email laurabeth.hayes@hardin.kyschools.us

Sincerely,

Mrs. Hayes (principal)

Kindergarten Homework Kindergarten Homework

Individualized to help YOUR child!

We launched our kindergarten homework last week. This homework, designed to target phonological awareness (PA) and phonics skills, is based on the skills your child has mastered at school. Every student is working on individualized skills. Our goal is to help each student make progress at his/her own pace.

THANK YOU FOR WORKING ON THESE SHEETS WITH YOUR CHILD. We believe it will make a huge difference in each child making a year of growth this school year.

To help you understand more about PA and Phonics and why they matter, see the graphics below:

Important Form to Complete for ALL Families!

All students will have access to a free breakfast and a free lunch again this school year. However, each family is still required to complete a Household Income Form to maintain accurate data as a requirement for state and federal funding. If this information is not collected accurately, Family Resource Centers, Youth Service Centers and instructional resources are in jeopardy of losing essential funding.

Please fill out even if your family does not qualify. It does not take long at all.

The form is available by CLICKING HERE. Free lunches are provided through a program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Its continuation is dependent on the number of school meals served. HCS encourages all students to participate in school lunch and school breakfast as much as possible!
