Week 14

We are excited to share the key paradigm shifts behind the Leader in Me approach your child will be learning at school. These are small changes in how students think about themselves, others, and learning and they’re easy to practice at home. Below is a short, parent-friendly explanation and simple home activities to reinforce each shift.

• Everyone can be a leader
  ⭐ Try: Give one small responsibility this week (set the table, lead a game). Praise the action.
  

• Everyone has genius
  💡 Try: Ask, “What are you great at?” Celebrate one strength daily.
  

• Change starts with me
  🖐️ Try: When something goes wrong, ask, “What can you choose to do next?” Let them pick a step.
  

• Students lead their learning
  ✔️ Try: Help your child set one tiny goal (finish a chapter, practice 10 minutes). Check progress together.
  

• School + Family = team
  🤝 Try: 3‑minute weekly huddle: one win, one goal, one thing to try next

Mrs. Quinones will be hosting our annual Veteran's Day assembly at 8:05 in the morning. Her class will present a few things and our school will be hosting a breakfast for the veterans who have RSVPed.

On Veterans Day we honor local veterans to thank them for their service, hear their stories, and learn what it means to be a responsible, caring citizen. Celebrating them strengthens our community and shows students how one person’s choices can make a big difference.

No School in honor of our Veterans! I'm sharing two versions of "What is Veteran's Day" for you to watch as a family.

Mrs. Santana, Mrs. Quinones, and Ms. Ramirez's classes will be visiting the Griffith Observatory to engage in some hands-on 5th grade standards. Parents, kindly remind your 5th graders to please wear their field trip shirts! Thank you.

For the brave parents who have signed up to participate, you should have received an email from me. Please show up by 12:30 pm for a dress rehearsal. Yes. We are expecting singing, but we will have the background track playing. The show will be at 1:15 pm.
