IT'S TIME TO POWER UP WITH MTSS INSTITUTE PRESENTS....
MARCH 3, 2020 - Registration is OPEN NOW!!
Is it me, or should we all go buy a lottery ticket today? We are going to learn so much from Dr. Miciak. Please read below to find out exactly what Dr. Miciak will share with us on March 3, 2020.
Session Description:
Progress Monitoring is an essential component in an MTSS Framework, but is often misunderstood. Dr. Miciak will situate assessment for progress monitoring within the broader purpose of assessment in MTSS, comparing and contrasting with other assessment types including screening, diagnostic assessment, and comprehensive assessment for disability identification (Full and Individual Evaluations). Session participants will come to understand the importance of routine progress monitoring of at-risk students to facilitate valid educational decision-making. Data Based Individualization (DBI) represents a framework for decision-making around intervention intensity for individual students with persistent learning difficulties. The validity of this decision-making process relies on appropriate administration and interpretation of underlying progress monitoring data.
Dr. Jeremy Miciak, Assistant Research Professor at the Texas Center for Learning Disabilities and in the Department of Psychology at the University of Houston, conducts research concerning learning disabilities and risks. He applies a special emphasis on issues of identification and intervention in diverse cultural and linguistic settings. Dr. Miciak earned his doctorate in special education from the University of Texas at Austin and has served as principal investigator and/or co-investigator on multiple grants funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Institute of Education Sciences
May 12, 2020 - Registration is open now!!
This is an exciting time for building a cohesive MTSS Framework. The question on everyone's mind is the HOW. What if I told you that there is already a way that it can be done. That's right. Often overlooked, school counselors hold a missing component to the MTSS Framework. This component, the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Program, is underutilized tool that goes hand in hand with HB 18.
My good friend Melanie Acker is passionate about three things outside of her family, School Counseling, Social Emotional Learning and working on the work with the MTSS Framework. I am so excited that she is going to be sharing with us how to blend those three things seamlessly. This session will be offered twice on May 12, 2020. Each session offers the choice of ZOOM or FACE TO FACE Participation. Click Here to be taken to the registration information.
Session Description: Please join Melanie Acker as she walks participants through identifying how The Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Program is an integral part of the MTSS Framework as well as the steps and ideas for integrating both on your campus.
All Means All - Prevention. Enrichment. Intervention.
