Meet Our New Structured Literacy Coach
Susan L. Wilson is a wife and a Nana. She has been married to her amazing husband for 32 years. Together they have four children (and spouses), three girls and a boy. They have three beautiful granddaughters who are 8, 5, and 2. They also have a 7-month-old grandson with another due in October. They love to go camping, ride their side-by-side, travel, try new experiences, and spend time with their family. Susan loves to scrapbook, take pictures, and craft, and she always has at least two or three books going. She has recently started dabbling in watercolor.
Susan graduated from Alamosa High School and then from Americana Beauty College in Alamosa, CO. She owned her own hair and nail salon in Manassa, CO for seven years prior to moving to Gallup, NM where she and her family lived for 20 years. Earned her associate degree from Adams State University in 2003. She returned to post-secondary education while working full-time and raising a family, completing her bachelorβs degree in K-8 Interdisciplinary Studies through WGU in 2012. She spent 10 years in the classroom, has been an Interventionist, and SAT Chairperson. She has been a Structured Literacy Coach with Central Region Educational Cooperative (CREC) for four years now. Susan completed her masterβs degree program through GCU in Educational Leadership and Administration with honors on November 1, 2023. She has a passion for learning and trying new things. There is a joy that comes from being a lifelong learner that she cannot begin to articulate effectively.
