CoyoteConnectionWeekly News at Reidy Creek Elementary School 3/21/2025

Dear Reidy Creek Families,

It was another great week here at Reidy Creek! On Monday, many of our classes celebrated Saint Patrick's Day with art projects, math activities, read alouds, and visits from the sneaky leprechaun! On Wednesday, our TK and Kindergarten students attended an assembly from the Burn Institute about fire safety. They learned what to do in the event of a fire, the importance of having a safety plan and designated meeting place at home, and when to call 911. The students did an excellent job and hopefully shared the information they learned once they got home.

We have a busy few weeks leading up to Spring Break. The Dental Clinic will be here on March 25th for any families who would like their child to attend. If you are interested in this service, please contact the main office. Our third grade Lunch and Learn is on Wednesday, March 26th at 11:30. This is a very important topic and will cover information about the CAASPP testing that occurs in both ELA and Math from 3rd-8th grade. The presentation will be in the MPR from 11:30-12:00. Following the presentation, parents can join their children for lunch in our courtyard. There are also several field trips scheduled over the next two weeks, so please check Rooms daily for information from your child's teacher!

I'm also excited to share that last week, a group of parents from North Broadway and Reidy Creek successfully completed a three-part series of the Positive Parenting Program. The sessions covered key topics including the power of Positive Parenting, Raising Confident and Competent Children, and Raising Resilient Children. Throughout the program, parents exchanged valuable strategies with both the instructors and one another. It was truly inspiring to witness such a strong connection between the school and the community, highlighting the shared commitment to student success both in and out of the classroom. A big congratulations to all of our participants, as well as to our fantastic presenters, Marisol and Rosa!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Enrollment for Next Year Enrollment for Next Year

While we are still focused on all the events and activities that are occurring over the next few months, our school has also begun the preliminary planning stages for next year. As we look towards enrollment numbers to help determine the number of classes needed at each grade level, please let your child's teacher (or the front office) know if you plan on not returning to Reidy Creek next year. This greatly helps out planning efforts.

Tardies Tardies

As a reminder, our gate will be closing promptly at 8:10. If your child arrives to school after the bell rings, they will need to go to the office to get a tardy pass. While I know the traffic can be challenging in the morning, we do have supervision on campus beginning at 7:50. Students are welcome to come on campus early to play on the playground, or get breakfast (starting at 7:30). When students are late, it can be very disruptive to both their day and their classroom.

PTA Information PTA Information

We are actively looking for parents willing to serve on the PTA Executive Board for the 2025-2026 school year. The new Board member ratification will take place at the Association meeting on Tuesday, April 15th. If you, or someone you know, is interested, please email reidycreekpta@gmail.com.

We are in need of several volunteers for a few upcoming events.

Our Glow Party will be held on Friday, April 4th, from 5:30-7:30. We are looking for parents to help run this event smoothly. Volunteers are needed to set up the event, help out during the event, and clean up. This is one of our favorite community-building activities that the PTA holds, and we are hoping to make it a huge success. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out this glow party volunteer form.

Our FAVE Art Festival is our biggest event of the year! Following Open House, it's the perfect culmination of the school year. This year is our 20th anniversary of the FAVE Festival and we are in need of many parent volunteers to help the event run smoothly. Our FAVE committee is looking for two volunteers from each classroom to help set up, run games/activities, and clean up. Please know that the FAVE festival is after Open House ends, so parents will still be able to visit their child’s classroom before helping. Please fill out this FAVE Volunteer form to indicate your interest and availability.
