The Eagle Express
Week of: October 2, 2026
A Note:
Greetings, Eagle Families!
And here we are in October! Enjoy this 3-day weekend and we will see you on Tuesday. Can you believe we are only one week away from our Fun Run?
FUN RUN Details:
📅 Friday, October 9th, 9am–3pm, Auxiliary Parking Lot
📍 Outside (moved inside if weather doesn't cooperate, watch your email & Facebook)
We hope to see you come cheer on your students during their designated run time. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early as parking is limited. We recommend carpooling with family and neighbors if possible.
** NEW THIS YEAR BADGE Pick Up for Spectators **
Register to spectate by Tuesday, October 6th. Register here (the same Google form we've been sharing since mid-September) so we can prepare your visitor badge ahead of time – please sign up even if you're not sure.
- Registered and already scanned in Raptor? Head straight to the Fun Run auxiliary parking lot. Your badge will be waiting at the check-in table.
- Registered but not yet scanned? Please stop by the Reagan office with your driver's license anytime before Friday, then join us at the Fun Run. If you have never worn a RAPTOR badge at school, you probably need to have your license scanned.
- Not registered as a spectator? You'll need to stop by the office before you watch.
All visitors need a badge, even for outdoor events.
Thank you for helping us keep Reagan safe.
Yours in Learning,
Angela Patterson, principal
Matt Stich, associate principal

Remember that Book Drive our very own Brownie Troop 37732 held in honor of Dolly Parton last month? Through your generosity, they were able to assemble 100 book bundles and donate even more. Way to go ladies!
Safety & Visiting School
Student safety is always our top priority, and a few simple systems help us know who's in the building at any given time.
Security staff: We are fortunate at Ronald Reagan to have Mr. Eric and Mr. Tim, our security team from Secure Resources Unlimited. Every day, we will have at least one of them onsite from before school until the end of the day.
Visitor badges (RAPTOR): anyone entering Reagan while students are present needs to check in at the front office for a RAPTOR visitor's badge. Bring a driver's license or passport to be scanned. For school-wide events during the day, we'll often send a sign-up link in Eagle Express so your badge is pre-printed and ready when you arrive.
Volunteering: sign in at the office for a RAPTOR sticker or badge, just like any visitor. All school volunteers — anyone supervising or working directly with students — must also have a completed background check on file (see below).
Background checks: required for any volunteer who supervises or works directly with students before, during, or after school hours, per Board Policies 3121 and 8120. The district uses Secure Volunteer, powered by the Background Investigation Bureau (BIB), to run these checks. It's a multi-step process that can take a few weeks, so it's worth starting well before you're hoping to volunteer. Apply through this Volunteer link on the SDNB website, and if you're not sure whether yours is current, just ask the office.
Lost & found: located just to the right of the gym doors. It fills up fast, so if your student is missing something, have them check sooner rather than later. Unclaimed items are donated at the end of each quarter.
Forgotten items: if you need to drop something off during the day (lunch, forgotten homework, etc.), leave it on the cart in the lobby labeled with your student's name and teacher, and send a quick email to the teacher so they know to look for it. We'll bring it in and let your student know it's ready whenever it's convenient for the teacher.
REPEAT FOR REAGAN {BUT STILL IMPORTANT!}
Eagles Fun Run -- Match Opportunity!
Exciting news! After our first week of fundraising, we are already halfway to our goal, and an anonymous donor has generously pledged to match the next $25,000 raised through this
year’s Fun Run!
At the donor’s request, this additional $25,000 will be directed specifically toward our playground replacement initiative.
Please note that this matching donation will not count toward the $50,000 Fun Run fundraising goal or the classroom incentive tiers. Instead, it provides an incredibly generous additional boost toward replacing our playgrounds.
For clarity, our $50,000 Fun Run fundraising goal was established to cover next school year’s HSA operating budget and does not include playground replacement costs.
We are incredibly grateful for this generous opportunity to make progress toward both priorities!
Let’s GO EAGLES!
