Hello Ruth Cherry Families,

As we prepare to finish out the semester, here are some upcoming details of campus happenings!

December 12th: UIL Celebration (for students who participated in UIL 2nd-5th grade)

December 17: Cookies with Santa event- All Grade Levels Welcome

• Come and go event - choir performing at 6pm

December 18: Kona Ice

December 20: Holiday party (more details below) and early release @12pm

December 23-January 7: Winter break

January 8: Students return to school

January 16: Science fair projects due

January 20: No school (MLK Day)

January 22: All Pro Dads

We will have Kona ICE snow cones on Wednesday, December 18th. Feel free to reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.

The next science fair workshop will be December 5th from 5:00-5:30 in Mrs. Oliver’s room A202.

Science fair is for all students in the K-5th grade, so siblings could complete one project together.

Our counselor, Mrs. Richardson, runs Cherry's Care Closet. If you would like to contribute, check out the wish list that she has put together.

The students must have a completed registration form to stay. Students will be meeting upstairs in the STEM lab and brought down to the front of the school when finished.

We are proud to partner with the YMCA on our after school care program at every elementary campus! This program replaces EDP. The YMCA After School Care Program will serve students in PreK to 12 years old in a safe and nurturing environment in conjunction with the school calendar.

Program Details:

- Serves students PreK to 12 years of age

- Follows the School Calendar

- From the dismissal bell until 6:30 p.m.

- $71 per week, $5 off per sibling, 50% off RCISD employee rate
