MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
CHS Community,
While our students enjoyed a day off today, the roles were reversed here at CHS! Our teachers spent the day as students during our staff professional development sessions. Aside from today's activity, it has been a very quiet week at the high school as we wind down the third quarter.
IMPORTANT SCHEDULING REMINDERS
Please take a moment this weekend to review your child's schedule requests. We fully understand the challenges of raising adolescents; their minds and interests change frequently! However, making informed decisions now is crucial. Solidifying these choices today significantly reduces the need for difficult (and sometimes impossible) schedule changes next year.
- Feb 17th: Student course selection access opens in Infinite Campus
- Feb 27th: Student course selection access closes in Infinite Campus
This week the school counselors did scheduling presentations for students in grades 8-11 this week. Below are the presentation slides that were reviewed with the students. We have a NEW feature in Infinite Campus called "Academic Plan Progress Report" which allows students and parents to see their progress toward their graduation requirements! The school counselors reviewed how to access this with students and how to understand it. Below is a tutorial for parents and students to help them navigate this new feature. Our hope is that this access will make understanding graduation requirements a bit easier and will help streamline communication between the parent, student, and school counselor.
Teachers are finalizing their course recommendations for students this week, and scheduling will open for students beginning next week and will end of February 27th. Students should input their course requests for next year in their Academic Planner no later than February 27th. School Counselors will be working to meet with each student throughout the scheduling season, but students are always welcome to complete their Counselor Request Form HERE if they would like to request an earlier meeting.

The school counselors also hosted our annual CCP (College Credit Plus) Information Night on Thursday. The relevant links are below. ALL students interested in taking CCP courses (including current CCP students) are required to submit an intent form no later than April 1, 2026. Families that were in attendance at the meeting have already completed their intent form. Students interested in taking CCP courses in the 2026-2027 school year should begin their application process now! The Lakeland CCP application can be located HERE.
Enjoy the extended weekend.
