Our Trunk or Treat Was a Success!
A huge thank you to all 22 families who created such amazing trunks with their incredible creativity!
A special shoutout to our 8th-grade parents for organizing a successful fundraiser, and to our Student Council for putting together the spooky Halloween maze.
Thank you to all the parents, students, alumni, and staff who attended and celebrated with us. Our Bruin pride was truly visible everywhere!

11/14 Reports go home
Report cards for the first trimester will be available via Grade Link and a paper copy will also be sent home. Please make sure to sign and return the white envelope that comes with the report card.

St. Helen School Toy Drive
From November 19 to December 17, we invite you to donate a new toy to help bring joy to families in need this Christmas season.
We’re joining forces with South Gate Water Dept to support local families in our community. Our Student Council, along with Ms. Yoli and her family, will be delivering the toys around the city of South Gate during Christmas break.
Thank you for helping us share the spirit of giving!
Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair will run from November 17th to November 21st in the school office!
Students in Pre-K through 8th grade will have the opportunity to shop during the school week.
The Book Fair will also be open during parent-teacher conferences, so families can stop by and find great books to enjoy at home!
Parent Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on November 19th, 20th, and 21st.
There will be early dismissal on these days.
Teachers will be sending either a link or a paper invitation for you to schedule your appointment.

Thanksgiving Prayer Service
Join us for our Thanksgiving Prayer Service on Friday, November 21st at 9:00 AM at St. Helen School.
This special celebration will be hosted by our PK and TK classes.
Each student in PK and TK may have up to two guests attend the service.

All students must be picked up by 1:15 PM.
The school office will close at 2:00 PM.

St. Helen School will be on Thanksgiving Break from Monday, November 24th through Friday, November 28th.
Classes will resume on Monday, December 1st.
We wish all our students, families, and staff a joyful and safe Thanksgiving!
Health Reminder
- Students need to be symptom and medicine free for 24 hours
- Provide a doctor's note after being out for 3 consecutive days
City of South Gate Safety Collaborative
St. Helen School Partners with City of South Gate Leaders
This month, St. Helen School was invited by the new Police Chief, Manuel Arana, to collaborate with the South Gate Police Department, Mayor Davila, and other local school principals. The meeting focused on important city updates, including public safety and public works in the City of South Gate.
Moving forward, I will be attending these monthly meetings to represent St. Helen School—sharing our community’s needs, achievements, and celebrations while strengthening our partnership with city leadership.
Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Thank you for your continued patience in regards to our morning and afternoon carline. When forming the carline do not drive in on the Southern avenue side of Madison. Parents form the line and wait coming on the Madison side on Illinois Ave.
We ask that students arrive on time to ensure they are ready for the academic day.

7:30- 7:45 AM
7:50 Late Bell (all students are to be in class by 7:50 AM)
Gate will be closed at 7:50 AM, students that are late may walk in through the main office, and receive a tardy slip.
Dismissal
2:30-2:45 PM. PreK-1st grade
2:45-3:00 PM 2nd-5th grade
3:00-3:15 PM 6th-8th grade
**For those families with multiple students please use the scheduled time for your oldest student.
