The Braintree Buzz
Principal's Update
We had an excellent week of learning here. As I walked the hall this morning, I spoke with older students who were writing persuasive essays with Ms. J. and first graders who were adding numbers with sums up to 20, using visual models like tens frames and Rekenreks, with Ms. Gershon. With the guidance of Ms. Lyndley, kindergarten and first grade students were practicing different methods of attaching paper to make three-dimensional shapes into sculptures with form and function. During Number Corner, fourth graders have been exploring ancient Egyptian representations of numbers to learn more deeply about our own base-ten Hindu-Arabic numeral system.
Please read on to learn about some of the wonderful things students and teachers did this week!
Safe Kids Week
Other lessons from counselor Ms. Cory and Nurse Brooke taught students about finding safe adults, friendships, and how to keep our bodies safe and healthy.
