SALYARDS MIDDLE SCHOOL
August 31st, 2026
MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL MILLER
A huge thank you to all of our parents and guardians who joined us for our VIPS Kickoff last Friday! We are excited to expand our volunteer opportunities this year and find even more ways for our families to be involved in supporting our students and staff. If you weren’t able to attend but would still like to get involved, more information on becoming a VIPS at Salyards can be found below in this newsletter.
We are also excited to officially kick off our school fundraiser this week! Thank you in advance for your support and participation. Our plan is to use the proceeds to help beautify our atrium, along with other campus initiatives that will directly impact and support our Bengals.
We are incredibly grateful for the partnership of our Bengal families and everything you do to help make Salyards such a special place. Here's to a great September!

SCHOOL-WIDE FUNDRAISER INFORMATION
Salyards School-Wide Fundraiser Starts Thursday!
We’re excited to kick off our Salyards School-Wide Fundraiser with Raise365 this Thursday! Our goal is to raise funds that will help us enhance our school—including creating exciting improvements to spaces like our atrium.
How students can help: Students are encouraged to gather 25 contacts (names and phone numbers). Once they have their contacts ready, they’ll use the Raise365 software on their Chromebook—and the software will do the rest!
Every contact helps support Salyards and brings us one step closer to making our school an even better place for our students. Let’s work together to make this fundraiser a huge success!

SCHOOL POLICIES TO BE AWARE OF
Clear Backpack Policy
CFISD requires all high school and middle school students to use clear backpacks. Students participating in an extracurricular activity are permitted to carry non-transparent bags to store items pertaining to their particular activity (i.e. band, athletics, etc.). Upon entry into the school, all extracurricular activity bags must be stored in lockers or designated areas. All bags are subject to search. Additionally, the maximum size for non-transparent bags that students in grades 6-12 are permitted to carry during the school day, such as lunch kits, pencil bags and purses, will be 6” x 9”.
Personal Device Policy
A new Texas law (House Bill 1481) requires school districts to prohibit student use of all personal communication devices during the school day. Therefore, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is updating its personal communication device policy. Click here to read more about CFISD's Personal Device Policy.
