And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency
in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8
Mornings at CCS 🌅
Morning Worship and Devotion
A favorite and very important start to the school day at CCS is taking time to praise the Lord by singing a song of worship and by listening to a morning devotion led by Mr. Yearwood and faculty members. Below are a few of the scriptures used in this week's devotions.
- Proverbs 22:6
- Galatians 6:9
- Proverbs 3:5-6
- Matthew 5:44
- Philippians 4:6-7
Learn the Doxology
At the end of morning devotion each day, students and teachers sing the Doxology. Students who do not know it yet will quickly pick up on the words. You might even hear your child singing it around the house! This is our favorite way to focus and close devotion before we head to class.
Praise God,
from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Sone, and Holy Ghost.
Amen.
Activities from the Week 🍎
Virtual Meetings
This year we tried something new for our Back-to-School Assemblies.
THANK YOU to everyone who was able to attend one of our virtual meetings!
We received a lot of positive feedback from parents about the meetings. We hope you found them to be informative and convenient. It was great seeing everyone tune in from various locations. In total, between the lower school and upper school meetings, we had 264 linked connections! This method of meeting allowed families to continue with family activities while learning more about the start of the school year.
Community Night
On Sunday, August 9th our booster club hosted a fun evening of play and fellowship at Community Night. During the evening students, alumni, parents, staff, and friends gathered to fellowship and play games. The night was complete with a visit from Judah the Lion, games, fun music, and athlete introductions. This was a great way for our CCS families to meet together and have some fun before the beginning of school.
Open House
Families spent the evening on Monday, August 10th visiting teachers and touring campus as they enjoyed the ease of a come-and-go style Open House. Having an open time window allowed families to attend at a time that worked best for them and allowed them to visit both campus locations.
Class Ambassadors
Class Ambassadors have volunteered several hours already this year by helping with Readiness Camp, Teacher Work Days, and Open House. We are proud of these rising young leaders!
First Day Joy
Smiles all around for the first day of school!
Students and teachers were so excited to see each other and get the year started. The Lord is good!
Snacks and Lunches
Students enjoyed spending lunch and snack time together.
Hot lunch orders for September are now underway. See your email for details.
Senior Sunrise
Seniors enjoyed time together on Friday morning as they watched the sun rise together and prepared their hearts for the school year.
Weekly Art Classes
Students always love their weekly art classes! All students in PK-6th grade attend a weekly art class. Students in grades 7-12 participate in art as elective classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Focused Learning
Students are already getting in the swing of things as the school year started with learning procedures, schedules, and expectations. Consistency is a key to creating a good learning environment. We want the best environment possible as students learn and grow this year academically and spiritually.
