Principal's Message Principal's Message

May is always a busy and exciting time in elementary school. Our students are continuing to grow academically, socially, and emotionally, and it has been a joy to see their hard work and progress.

I encourage all of our students to stay focused, keep trying their best, and finish the year strong. Every day of learning still matters, and attendance remains very important as we make the most of these final 2 months of school.

This is also a time to celebrate the many people who make our school such a special place. Thank you to our teachers and staff for their dedication, to our families for your partnership, and to our students for bringing energy, kindness, and curiosity to our school each day.

We look forward to a joyful and successful month ahead. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community.

During May, students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will participate in SBA testing. We want every child to have the opportunity to do their best in a calm and focused setting.

Students will begin testing first thing in the morning and will work up to lunchtime and then potentially in the afternoon if needed. We have made special arrangements and schedules so they have the appropriate amount of support as well as ample work time to complete each portion of the test.

Families can help by planning ahead to avoid late arrivals, early pick-ups, appointments, and trips during the testing window whenever possible. Your support makes a big difference.

A consistent routine at home can also help students feel confident and prepared each day. Getting a good night’s sleep, eating breakfast, and arriving at school on time are all simple ways to support success. Thank you for partnering with us to help create the best possible testing experience for all students.

Immunizations

New requirements are in effect for students in preschool or kindergarten who are four years old or older on Sept. 1.

Washington state's school immunization law requires documentation of immunization at the time of school registration. A Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS), signed by the parent/guardian, must be on file at the school on or before the student's first day of school. Learn more about immunizations.
