CoyoteConnectionWeekly News at Reidy Creek Elementary School 5/16/2025

Dear Families,

This week, many of our third and fourth-grade students completed both their Math and ELA SBAC testing this week. Next week, our fifth graders will take the Math SBAC test from Tuesday -Friday. All other students will begin taking their third and final iReady diagnostic test. This test is especially important because it helps show how much progress your child has made since the beginning of the year. In addition to providing valuable insight into a student's growth in reading and math, it will highlight areas of strength and identify where additional support might be needed. This diagnostic test will also show how close students are to meeting both their typical growth and stretch growth goals. We will review all of this data at the beginning of next year and will help teachers plan for instruction and support as they launch the new school year.

This week, our students had an opportunity to attend a Farmer's Market at school put on by Food 4 Thought. Students attended a short Nutrition and Wellness session emphasizing healthy eating and exercise, and then got to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables to take home. It was a wonderful experience, and our students had a great time!

Next week, we have two big events. Our last Lunch and Learn for fourth grade families will be held on Wednesday, May 21st. There will be a presentation in the MPR from 11:10-11:40 around digital safety. Then, parents are welcome to join their child in the courtyard for lunch.

Lastly, after months of planning, Open House and our FAVE Art Festival are finally here! Teachers and students have been working hard to prepare their classrooms to showcase all of their hard work this year during Open House. Classrooms will be open from 5pm to 5:45pm. Following Open House, the FAVE Art Festival will kick off at 6pm! With many games, crafts, artwork, performances, and auction items, it is definitely an event you don't want to miss! The blacktop will be open for parking.

It's going to be a fun and busy week ahead!
