We are again closely monitoring the forecast for inclement weather in our area this weekend, with the increasing likelihood of snow from overnight Friday through the day on Saturday. We will be tracking the weather and its impacts and will share an update on the status of school for Monday, Feb. 2, as soon as a decision is made.

And as always, all official updates regarding any changes to our school schedule and operations, as well as weekend and after-school activities, will be shared with our families via text and email through our mass notification system, posted and timestamped to our website (www.clarke.k12.ga.us) and social media channels (@ClarkeCoSchools), and shared with local media organizations and the Atlanta television news stations.

Families: Please be sure your contact information (phone and email) is up to date in Parent Portal. For more on how to update this information, go to www.clarke.k12.ga.us/portalhelp.

2026-27 New Student Enrollment, Pre-K Lottery Registration Begins Next Week!

The time is here! If you or someone you know will have a new student to enroll in CCSD for the 2026-27 school year, now is the time to start preparing! New student registration for next school year (grades PK-12) will begin next week!

  • Pre-K Lottery registration will run Feb. 2-6 and will continue past next week until all pre-K seats for next school year are filled. However, the lottery registration is your "Best Chance for Your First Choice" of where your child will attend pre-K.
  • K-12 registration is only for students who will be new to CCSD or returning to CCSD from another public school district, private school, or homeschool setting. Current CCSD pre-K students do not have to re-register for kindergarten. They will be assigned to the school for which they are zoned for kindergarten. While registration will run from Feb. 2 all the way up to the start of the new academic year in August, we encourage "early bird" enrollment so that your student will be first-day ready!

For more information, go to www.clarke.k12.ga.us/registration and open the attached one-page PDF file below.

Application

Registration is an online process and can be done entirely from the comfort of your home; however, in-person assistance is available. The registration application will be go live on Monday, Feb. 2, at www.clarke.k12.ga.us/registration. Please be sure you select the correct application and the correct year (2026-27)!

Assistance

Protect Your Student and Yourself Against the Flu; Schedule a Vaccine Appointment at a CCSD School-Based Health Center!

We are in the height of flu season, and that can have a significant impact on student and staff attendance in CCSD. Flu activity has been widespread and severe across the state, and cases are likely to continue to increase in the coming weeks, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

If you have not received a flu shot yet this season and have no medical conditions preventing you from doing so, DPH strongly urges you to take advantage of the health benefits the flu vaccine provides as soon as possible. The CDC recommends that individuals over the age of 6 months receive a once-yearly flu vaccine – not just for their own protection, but to protect others around them who may be more vulnerable to the flu and its complications, including the elderly and immunocompromised.

Flu shots and sick-visit appointments are available for CCSD students and staff at all four of the district's school-based health centers:

  • Clarke Middle Health Center - 706-208-1190
  • Classic City Health Center - 706-389-1095
  • Coile Health Center - 706-352-9244
  • Hilsman Health Center - 706-546-7463

The flu vaccine is widely available for the general public at the Clarke County Health Department, doctors’ offices, grocery stores, neighborhood clinics, and pharmacies.

And, as always, we encourage our students, staff and families to practice good hand hygiene and always stay home when you are sick. For more guidelines on when you should keep your child at home, go to our nursing services page at www.clarke.k12.ga.us/nursing.

See Something, Say Something

CCSD considers the safety and security of our students and staff our highest priority, and utilizes the CCSD Tip Line as a critical tool for us to help ensure that our schools remain safe and promote a welcoming environment for learning. It is also another mechanism for us to celebrate good deeds or achievements by our staff members and students that may have gone unreported but deserve recognition and celebration.

Tips can be submitted online at www.clarke.k12.ga.us/tipline or by phone by dialing 706-353-1737. The Tip Line can also be accessed online from the home page of the district website and all school websites.
