March Newsletter
Haymarket Elementary School
Dear Haymarket Families,
As we welcome spring, we are proud of the progress our students continue to make each day. Classrooms are filled with engaged learners who are rising to high expectations and showing meaningful academic growth. We are also seeing positive student behavior throughout the building, with students demonstrating respect, responsibility, and kindness toward one another. These efforts are helping create a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Spring is always a busy and exciting time of year. I encourage you to review the important dates in this newsletter to stay informed about upcoming events and activities. While the season brings a full calendar, it also gives us an opportunity to celebrate the successes we have achieved so far and look forward to continued growth and accomplishment in the months ahead. As always, we appreciate your continued partnership and support as we work together for the success of all students.
Warm regards,
Nicole Mills
Principal

Haymarket Students Shine at PWCS Elementary All County Chorus
Three Haymarket Elementary 5th grade students proudly represented the school this weekend at the annual PWCS Elementary All‑County Chorus, an event that brings together talented young vocalists from across Prince William County.
Elizabeth O., Lily C., and Maeve G. were selected earlier this year and have spent the past several months rehearsing in preparation for the countywide performance. Their dedication and enthusiasm culminated in a remarkable concert held Saturday afternoon at Colgan High School, where students from schools across the division came together to perform a beautifully crafted program under the direction of county music educators.
Haymarket Elementary celebrates the hard work and accomplishments of Elizabeth, Lily, and Maeve and commends them for their commitment to the arts. Their participation highlights the strength of the school’s music program and the value of artistic opportunities for students.
Birthdays
Birthday treats are welcome. We recommend goody bags as many students have allergies. Please clear with your child's teacher prior to bringing in any treats.

Attendance & ParentVue
Save Time! Using ParentVUE to notify the school of your child's absence alerts both the office and the teacher of your child's absence.
If you prefer to email about attendance, please use the office email: HMES-cubs-attendance@pwcs.edu. Using this email sends your message to everyone working in the office and ensures your message is read in a timely manner.
Early Dismissal
Whenever possible, please email your child's teacher the day before you need to pick your child up early. Doing this the day before ensures the teacher sees the email and can have your child packed up. This saves time, especially when you're picking your child up during lunch, recess or Encore. Any changes to transportation should be reported to the office by 3:15 PM. All early dismissals are required by 3:30 PM to allow for a smooth dismissal to the day. IDs are required when picking up your student for early dismissal.
