Subject: Important Updates for Our School Community
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we embrace the cooler weather and the transition to winter, we have a few important updates to share with you to ensure the safety and success of our students.
1. Lost and Found: Please remind your students to check our Lost and Found area regularly. With the change in weather, we have already accumulated a significant collection of coats and other items. We want to make sure that everyone stays warm and comfortable during the colder months, and lost items can often be found in the Lost and Found area. Encourage your children to keep track of their belongings, and let us know if they've misplaced anything.
2. Emphasizing Attendance and Promptness: At Carberry, we believe that regular attendance and punctuality are crucial for student learning and success. To support this, we have implemented a new security measure. Thanks to the generous support of the "Saving our Future's" grant, our classroom outside doors will now remain locked, even if they are opened during school hours. This change will help maintain a safe and secure environment for our students.
3. Exciting News: Out of School Planning Grant! We are thrilled to announce that Carberry has been awarded a $15,000 Out of School Planning Grant from the Idaho Commission for Libraries. This grant will allow us to provide additional support to some of our students who may need extra assistance one day a week. We are committed to ensuring every student's success and well-being, and this grant will help us achieve that goal.
We appreciate your ongoing support and partnership in providing the best educational experience for your children. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at (208)365-0839.
Thank you for being an essential part of our Carberry community. We are also celebrating that 97% of our families were able to attend Parent Teacher Conferences. Way to go parents and guardians.
Warm regards,
Greg Alexander, Principal

News From the Nurse
Many parents are asking if they should keep their sick child at home? Please consider these guidelines:
¶ Fever greater than 100.0° F: The child can return to school after he/she has been fever free for 24 hours (without fever-reducing medicine such as Tylenol or Motrin).
¶ Diarrhea/Vomiting: A child with diarrhea and /or vomiting should stay at home and return to school only after being symptom-free for 24 hours.
¶ Persistent Cough &/or sore throat: Please consider keeping them home especially if they are unable to participate in class.
Keeping a sick child home prevents the spread of illness in school and allows the child an opportunity to rest and recover. Please call the school nurse if you have questions.
