Just a reminder that our October Family Night is taking place this Tuesday, October 20, from 5:00-6:45 pm in the Black Mountain Elementary gym!

Come dressed in your pajamas and join us for a cozy movie night as we watch Toy Story 5. Bring your favourite camp chair, bean bag, or picnic blanket and settle in for an evening of fun with family and friends.

We invite families to bring a favourite snack to share for our community snack buffet table. We'll also have fresh popcorn available throughout the evening!

As part of the fun, children are welcome to bring a stuffy that they would be comfortable leaving at school overnight. Before the movie, students can create a special nametag for their stuffy, and then their furry friend will stay behind for a Stuffy Sleepover. The stuffies will return to their owners the next day, along with some photographic evidence of the adventures and mischief they may have gotten into overnight! 😊

We look forward to seeing you there for a fun-filled evening of community, connection, and family fun! 🎬🍿🧸

Online Field Studies Permission Forms Online Field Studies Permission Forms

At Black Mountain Elementary, we are increasingly using our online Field Studies Permission Forms to help keep families informed about learning opportunities that take place off school property.

When a field study is organized, your child's teacher will send home a link and access code for you to review and complete the permission form online. These forms must be completed before students can participate in any off-site activity. This includes larger events that require transportation by bus, as well as local learning opportunities that involve walking within our community.

These permission forms are an important part of ensuring that families are aware of where students will be learning and participating, while also helping us maintain the safety and well-being of all students during off-site activities.

If you have received a permission form link and are experiencing difficulty accessing or completing it, please contact your child's teacher or the school office. We are happy to help and want to ensure every family can complete the process with ease.

Thank you for your support in helping us provide safe and meaningful learning experiences beyond the school grounds.

Our PAC plays an important role in making many wonderful opportunities possible for our students. From Hot Lunch and the Book Fair to school events, equipment, learning resources, and support for field studies, the time and energy contributed by our parent community has a significant impact on our school.

To make these programs and events possible, we need your help! There are a variety of ways to volunteer throughout the year, whether you can help regularly or only for a specific event. Our PAC is currently especially looking for support with the Hot Lunch Program, including volunteers who may be available on Mondays and every other Friday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Please take a look at the attached PAC information and volunteer sign-up sheet to learn more about the many ways you can get involved. If you are able to lend a hand, even a small amount of your time can make a big difference!
