Dear Families,

We had another fantastic week at PRES! Our fourth graders explored the Palmer River in search of macroinvertebrates, while first graders enjoyed an entertaining puppet show. Meanwhile, kindergarten students took part in an engaging Animal Encounters program. As the weeks continue, we’re looking forward to even more exciting activities and learning experiences. A quick reminder: third graders will take their final MCAS test next week, and fourth-grade testing will follow the week after.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kristine Kefor, Principal (email: kkefor@drregional.org)

Dr. Cheryl Leandro, Assistant Principal (email: cleandro@drregional.org)

TikTok Chromebook Challenge TikTok Chromebook Challenge

zoom_out_map

We want to alert families about a dangerous social media trend known as the “Chromebook Challenge,” where students are encouraged to insert metal objects—such as paperclips, coins, or staples—into their school-issued Chromebooks. This behavior can cause electrical fires, serious injuries, and permanent device damage. It violates our technology use policy and will not be tolerated. Families will be held financially responsible for intentional damage, and students involved will face disciplinary action. Please talk to your child about the dangers of this trend and remind them that school technology is for learning, not experimentation. To learn more, watch this brief news video: Dangerous TikTok Trend on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpRx7dcDqTQ).

Our amazing art teacher, Mrs. Beaulieu, has some exciting projects planned as we wrap up the school year, and she could use a helping hand from our parent community to make it all happen. If you’re available to volunteer, please sign up using the link below. Even just an hour or two can make a big difference!
