Cheetah Chatter #8

Dear Croce Families,

As we approach week 8 of the school year, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support and partnership. We have successfully completed two weeks of conferences, and the collaboration between parents, teachers, and students has been truly inspiring. Your commitment to your child’s growth is key to our success, and it’s making a big difference.

Learning Highlights:

• Garden Adventures: Our students have been actively learning in the garden, connecting with nature while expanding their knowledge in a hands-on environment.
• Paws for Reading: The excitement continues in the library as students engage in Paws for Reading with our furry friends. This special program is helping to foster a love for reading!
• Science Explorations: Our students have been immersed in engaging, hands-on science activities that spark curiosity and enhance critical thinking skills.

Movie Night Tonight! Let’s celebrate this wonderful journey so far with Movie Night tonight! Thanks to the PTA, we’ll be enjoying a screening of Inside Out 2 in the MPR. We hope to see you all there for an evening of fun and community building.

Restrooms on Campus: We would like to remind parents and volunteers that the student restrooms on campus are for children only. If you need to use the restroom or assist your child, please use the facilities in the office. This helps maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all students.

After dismissal: Once the school day concludes, our teachers often need time to hold important meetings, plan lessons, or engage in parent-teacher conferences. In order to give them the quiet space they need to prepare for the next day and provide the best learning experience for our students, we kindly ask that all families exit the inner campus promptly after dismissal. We appreciate your understanding.

Parking Lot Reminders: We understand that pick-up and drop-off times can be hectic, and we kindly ask everyone to exercise patience and understanding during these times. Please remember:

• We are all part of the same community and share the same goal: to pick up our children quickly and safely.
• Our neighbors are impacted by the traffic as well. Let’s be respectful and considerate of their space. Imagine how you would want others to park and drive if it were your home or neighborhood.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our parking lot safe and orderly for everyone.

The Importance of Attendance

I would also like to remind you of the crucial role that regular attendance plays in your child’s academic journey. Missing just 2 days per month might not seem significant, but it quickly adds up over time. Consider the following:

• 2 days per month x 10 months = 20 missed days per year
• 20 missed days per year x 13 years of school = 260 missed days
• That’s over an entire school year and a half of missed learning!

Regular attendance helps your child stay on track academically, is crucial for social connection and feeling part of the Croce community. Every day truly makes a difference!

Thank you for your continued support and for helping make Croce Elementary such a wonderful community. We look forward to more exciting weeks ahead!
