Wildcat Weekly- 9/15-9/19

Message from Principal Martinez ๐พ
Dear Wildcat Families:
Attendance is a priority for Pomerado and we need your partnership in ensuring your students are at school every day, unless they are ill. Our attendance percentage for the month of August was 97.5%.
Tuesday, September 16, 2025: Earthquake and Disaster Drill
This coming week we will be practicing Earthquake and Disaster Drill Procedures. Your children will begin the drill with a โduck & coverโ protocol, then they will be evacuated to practice our disaster drill protocols. This drill requires special teams to set up specific areas that would be needed in case of a disaster emergency, including student release centers. If we are ever in a real-life situation where student release will be required, please make sure you follow directions sent in communications and be prepared to show your identification card. This is a great time to review your emergency contacts with the school, to ensure that in the case of an emergency, we have a list of approved adults to which we can release your child. Without that information, your child can only be released to you.
Iโm looking forward to seeing everyoneโs smiling faces for Picture Day on Monday!
Have a wonderful weekend! and GO WILDCATS!
Picture Day on Monday ๐ธ
Just a reminder that School Picture Day is this Monday, September 15th. If your student is absent, Picture Make-up day is next Monday, September 22. These pictures will be used in our School Yearbook
Update: Volunteer Process & New Check-In System
Weโre excited to share that we are rolling out a new check-in iPad system in the front office. This system will require a valid photo ID at check-in for all visitors on campus. The new system will also be used for student late arrivals and early departures.
As for our updated volunteer process, while the district had originally planned to have the new system finalized by mid-September, they are now adjusting the timeline to the end of September. This will ensure everything is set up smoothly and staff receive proper training.
In the meantime, we will continue welcoming those who wish to volunteer on campus as visitors.
If you plan to volunteer on a regular basis this year, we encourage you to complete your TB assessment or testing now, so youโll be ready once the updated process officially launches.
Thank you for your patience and ongoing support as we work to build a more efficient volunteer experience. Our volunteers are a valued part of our school communities, and we look forward to welcoming you under the new system soon.
